Elizabeth founded Elway & Co. Interior Design in 2023, inspired by a family legacy of entrepreneurship and a desire to build a company guided by care, integrity, and thoughtful work.

The firm’s name has personal meaning. Elizabeth’s full name is Elizabeth L. Way, and when she was a child, she was given the nickname “Elway.” The name stayed with her and ultimately became the foundation for Elway & Co.

Elizabeth comes from a long line of business owners, particularly women. Growing up, she watched her grandmother run a successful chemical manufacturing company—the first woman-owned and operated company of its kind in South Carolina. As the fifth generation of her family to own a business, Elizabeth was drawn to the freedom and responsibility of building a firm on her own terms.

That background shaped the values behind Elway & Co. Elizabeth believes in doing things the right way, not simply the easiest or fastest way. Her mother’s work in process improvement also influenced the way she approaches design: with a focus on efficacy, organization, and creating meaningful value.

At its core, Elway & Co is a small business that cares deeply about leaving clients in a better position than when the project began. Every design is developed with the goal of creating a space that is not only beautiful, but more functional, efficient, and thoughtfully suited to the people who use it.
